A memorial to and celebration of the Mother and Carer – a substantial touring sculpture of a Mother as a place of play and sanctuary for children and adults. It makes visible and honours the often invisible work of caring.

It commemorates the change into, and what must be left behind as you take the role of Mother and Carer. It is an artwork completed by the ones being cared for – in this case playing and clambering children. It says without shame that caring is a challenge, a loss as well as a gift. It’s about people and about the planet.

In Mumoriam places sculpture of a woman where we often find art of men of power or no art at all.
It starts – and holds – conversations with Mums and Carers. It celebrates the power of the carers body – and the right of children to use their own full bodies in play.
